London Taxi

Taxis in the United Kingdom are also known as rental cars and are approved by local authorities throughout most of the UK. Black taxis are popular in London as well as in other major cities in the UK, although they are generally connected to the capital in much the same way as open-roof red double-decker buses. To celebrate the golden anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II (50th Anniversary of the Queen's reign) in two thousand two fifty golden taxis.

Black cabs in the UK are known for their distinctive "TAXI" lights at the top of the vehicle that glow when the taxi can be hired. In the past, taxis across the United Kingdom would probably have been a large saloon car that accommodated passengers and were affordable, but the increasing awareness and regulation of access to disabled people has prompted many local authorities to offer free licenses for taxis that are adequately equipped for to allow disabled passengers in wheelchairs. Now many vehicles are specifically designed with wheelchair access in mind, with large vehicles equipped with expandable ramps and ample rear space.
