LED lighting: the future of energy-efficient lighting


LED lighting is one of the most popular forms of residential and commercial lighting on the market today. It has many associated advantages, which contributes to its increasing popularity. Compared to conventional incandescent lighting, LED lighting is much brighter and the used LED bulbs have a longer lifespan. LED lighting is also an environmentally friendly form of lighting, as it emits less carbon dioxide than traditional bulb lighting.

LED lighting is increasingly preferred for a variety of purposes, including home lighting, office lighting, vehicle lighting, landscape lighting, and public safety lighting. These diodes are well protected by plastic bulbs that contain them. LED lights operate on energy generated by the movement of electrons and emit white light. Despite their small size, LED lights work wonders when used in combination, for high intensity applications.

LED lights are available in various efficiencies. LED lights for residential purposes are approximately 20 lumens / watt. However; With the latest advancements, LED lights with capacities up to 160 lumens / watt are also being developed. It is not hard; they emit soft lights. The lower brightness intensity is due to the use of low pressure sodium lamps.

LED lighting capabilities are many. One is unidirectional lighting that enables LED lighting. This property of LEDs makes them very useful for various applications where the light must be focused in only one direction. They are more durable than conventional bulbs, as they are resistant to impact by thermal influences and vibrations.

There are no UV or infrared rays resulting from led shop lights. This makes them ideal for outdoor lighting, as UV rays attract insects. There is no mercury in the LEDs; Therefore, it does not heat up with use. LED lighting does not interrupt radio or television signals since there is no ballast on an LED. But it should be noted that they are heat sensitive; Exposure to excess heat can damage not only the quality of the light emitted, but also the life of the light.

Due to its numerous advantages, the application of LED lighting has increased enormously. Can be used for focused lighting in dark interior areas such as closets, areas under kitchen cabinets, garage interiors, and overhead lighting. It is widely used for hallway lighting, art lighting, landscape lighting, reading area lighting, and night lighting.
