20 steps for effective on-page optimization


Recently, I learned that Google will bring something unique to the EMD and Google Panda hit site to get them back in the rankings, obviously not on top so soon. There will be some twist that comes with it and I am all prepared as I know that if anything comes, then it will surely affect the current site rankings as well.

Most people will notice that change after fall in their rankings, see the competitor they have beaten after Google Panda and EMD updates come close to them. However, I am ready for a lot of strategies on the site, which I will also share here in the hope that it may also be of benefit to some of you. The very first step in on-page optimization is site analysis and is also considered as the backbone for effective website optimization process. It is very important to make sure that the site you are optimizing is free of errors. This is for both search engines and users. Site Layout: It defines the site architecture; the way the owner has decided to present his product or services to visitors. It is always advised that your products and services are offered in such a way that it is easy to find and review for any visitor to your site. There must be proper classification of products and services that you offer analysis of shape, size, category, etc.

HTML Source Code: This section defines the HTML code of a web page such as javascript, CSS, other codes required to present the data. You need to make it clean and free of errors. Always validate your HTML from W3 tagging service, they even tell you the slightest error in your HTML source code. The less the error, the less time the crawlers take to move around in your tags, and more time they will have to read the actual content of your digital business pages.

Navigation - Top and Footer: Here you should observe the most crucial area of ​​a web page - Header and Footer, also known as Top Navigation and Footer links. You only have to present the links that may be helpful to visitors in their search for information and can help them find what they came up with on your web page.

Website Load Time: The time it takes a web page to open completely in any browser. Developer should take care of this problem as they are the experts in reducing the amount of code found on any web page. It is recommended to put long codes in CSS and try to make the web page size as low as possible. Load time also depends on various other factors such as - flash file, images, PDF, server, amount of content.

Link Test (broken link, anchor text): Choose Xenu broken link checker or the one you trust to check for a broken link on your site. Broken links are not crawler favorites, and generally they tend to downgrade the rankings of this site with multiple broken links and display them as 404 errors. You need to be doubly sure of every link you add internally if it works or not.
